Capri, Italy

Capri is an island located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples in the Campania region of Italy. The main town Capri that is located on the island shares the name. It has been a resort since the time of the Roman Republic.
Some of the main features of the island include the following: the Marina Piccola (the little harbour), the Belvedere of Tragara (a high panoramic promenade lined with villas), the limestone crags called sea stacks that project above the sea (the Faraglioni), the town of Anacapri, the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), and the ruins of the Imperial Roman villas.
Capri is part of the region of CampaniaProvince of Naples. The town of Capri is the island's main population centre. The island has two harbours, Marina Piccola and Marina Grande (the main port of the island). The separate comune of Anacapri is located high on the hills to the west.


Torcello Cathedral, Venice, Italy

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) is a basilica church on the island of Torcello,Venice, northern Italy. It is a notable example of Venetian-Byzantine architecture, one of the most ancient religious edifices in the Veneto, and containing the earliest mosaics in the area of Venice.


Santa Maria della Salute, Venice, Italy

Santa Maria della Salute is a Baroque church in Venice at the entrance to the Grand Canal . It is one of two votive churches of Venice, built on the occasion of a plague epidemic in the city. On October 22, 1630, the acclaimed Doge Nicolò Contarini the Madonna a church, with a request for completion of the plague that raged since 1630, in the city and in the city of about 46,000 inhabitants lost (one third of its population). The church was in a prominent place on the Bacino di San Marco towards the Doge's Palace to be built. From the competition held by the Venetians went Baldassare Longhena , a student Scamozzi , emerged as the winner, although the Senate would prefer to begin hires a Roman architect.



Castelvecchio, Verona, Italy


 Castelvecchio (Italian: "Old Castle") is a castle in Verona, northern Italy. It is the most important military construction of the Scaliger dynasty that ruled the city in the Middle Ages.
The castle is powerful and compact in its size with very little decoration - one square compound built in red bricks, one of the most prominent examples of Gothic architecture of the age, with imposing M-shaped merlons running along the castle and bridge walls. It has seven towers, a superelevated keep (maschio) with four main buildings inside. The castle is surrounded by a ditch, now dry, which was once filled with waters from the nearby Adige.
Castelvecchio is now home to the Castelvecchio Museum and the local officer's club which can be accessed through the left door on Corso Cavour.

Riviera Adriatica, Italy




Cala Mariolu, Sardinia, Italy

spuligi de nie, also known as Cala Mariolu (from Neapolitan "mariolu" ie thief) is an inlet of the Gulf of Orosei , which is part of the municipality of Baunei , in the province of Ogliastra , in Sardinia . It is located immediately north of Punta Ispuligi  which separates it from the neighboring beach of the Gulls. The cove takes its name from an Italian told of a fisherman Ponzese refuge that his freshly caught fish in a small cave near the beach where we docked. The fisherman did not know, however, that in all of Costa Baunei was present the famous monk seal , that out of the water and ate the fish hidden in the cave. The fisherman, who did not know the existence of the seal, exclaimed "Acca basket Mariolu" (in Italian "here's some thief") and since then this exclamation gave the name to this cove. 



Tsing Ma Bridge, Hongkong

The Tsing Ma Bridge is a bridge in Hong Kong. It is the world's ninth-longest span suspension bridge, and was the second longest at time of completion. The bridge was named after two of the islands at its ends, namely Tsing Yi and Ma Wan. It has two decks and carries both road and rail traffic, which also makes it the largest suspension bridge of this type. The bridge has a main span of 1,377 metres (4,518 ft) and a height of 206 metres (676 ft). The span is the largest of all bridges in the world carrying rail traffic.
The 41-metre (135 ft) wide bridge deck carries six lanes of automobile traffic, with three lanes in each direction. The lower level contains two rail tracks and two sheltered carriageways, used for maintenance access and traffic lanes when particularly severe typhoons strike Hong Kong and the bridge deck is closed to traffic.


Lan tau Airport link, Hongkong

The Lantau Link, formerly known as the Lantau Fixed Crossing, is a roadway linking Hong Kong International Airport to the urban areas in Hong Kong. It was officially opened on 27 April 1997, and it opened to traffic on 22 May the same year. 
The Lantau Link is 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) long and carries a railway as well as roads. It comprises
The Lantau Link is the only land passageway connecting Lantau and other parts of Hong Kong. The Link is split into upper and lower level for traffic. The upper level is an open, 3-lane divided highway, while the lower level has the track for the MTR Airport Express and Tung Chung Line and two single-lane roads for emergency use in both directions. The speed limit is 80 kilometres per hour (50 mph) on the upper level and 50 kilometres per hour (31 mph) on the lower level.
In normal situations, the lower level is not open. It is opened only in special circumstances such as strong wind or serious accidents which lead to the closure of the upper level. The lower level is not connected to Ma Wan.
Near the end of the Lantau Link is the cable-stayed Ting Kau Bridge.


Wan Chai at night

Wan Chai is a metropolitan area situated at the western part of the Wan Chai District on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. Its other boundaries are Canal Road to the east, Arsenal Street to the west and Bowen Road to the south. The area north of Gloucester Road is often referred to as Wan Chai North. Wan Chai is one of the busiest commercial areas in Hong Kong with offices of many small and medium-sized companies. Wan Chai North features office towers, parks, hotels and an international conference and exhibition centre. As one of the first areas developed in Hong Kong, the locale is densely populated yet with noticeable residential zones facing urban decay. Arousing considerable public concern, the government has undertaken several urban renewal projects in recent years. There are many unique landmarks and skyscrapers within the area, most notably the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), Central Plaza and Hopewell Centre.

The Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple (Chinese) are an ensemble of three independent pagoda towers arranged on the corners of an equilateral triangle, near the town of DaliYunnan provinceChina, dating from the time of the Kingdom of Nanzhao and Kingdom of Dali in the 9th and 10th centuries.
The Three Pagodas are located about 1.5 km (0.93 mi) north of scenic Dali, Yunnan province. They are at the east foot of the tenth peak of the massive Cangshan Mountains and face the west shore of the Erhai Lake of ancient Dali.
